Issued to mark the 200th anniversary of Bangkok as the Thai capital, founded in 1782 when Rama I established the Chakri dynasty and relocated the court from Thonburi across the Chao Phraya River. The 600 baht face value was chosen symbolically — 600 being a multiple tied to the ceremonial numerology surrounding the bicentennial festivities rather than any practical circulation denomination.
These were struck for the collector market and saw no meaningful circulation.
