The 60 Tala was issued to mark Samoa's 60th anniversary of independence, continuing the Central Bank's practice of releasing commemorative polymer notes for significant national milestones. Note Printing Australia has handled Samoan polymer production for years, and this note follows that established relationship rather than representing any change in the country's printing arrangements.
The transparent window is integrated into the polymer substrate itself — not a foil addition — which is characteristic of NPA's manufacturing process and distinguishes it from security windows applied post-print by other suppliers.
