Beschrijving keerzijde Grey and blue-green note with matching Art Nouveau pilaster borders at left and right. The central vignette illustrates the Silesian folk legend of Rübezahl and the glass dealer: a frightened tradesman recoils before the giant mountain spirit, rendered as a turbulent bearded face emerging from swirling mists above a forested mountain landscape, his pack and wares scattered on the ground. The title inscription is divided between a cartouche at the top and a lower panel.

Opmerkingen

Greiffenberg in Schlesien — now Gryfów Śląski in southwestern Poland — issued this Notgeld through its municipal savings bank during the acute small-change shortage that gripped Germany in the early Weimar inflation years. Carl Flemming & T. C. Wiskott in Glogau were among the more prolific regional Notgeld printers of the period, and the use of handmade watermarked paper here was a deliberate anti-counterfeiting measure, unusual for a denomination this low.

The 60 Pfennig value is an odd one — most municipal issuers favored round figures — suggesting it was calibrated to fill a specific gap in local transaction needs.
