Obverse description The obverse is printed in teal-green ink on cream paper and divided into three vertical vignette panels within a dotted border. The left panel presents a landscape vignette captioned 'Ruine Wesen' with a river valley and wooded hills; the central panel carries a townscape vignette of Waldkirchen with a prominent church spire set against rolling hills, flanked above by the year '19 20' in two parts; the right panel shows an elevated panoramic view of the town captioned 'Wekenuser (?)', with the denomination '60 Heller' printed in bold Gothic numerals and lettering in the upper corners of the left and right panels respectively. The issuer text 'Notgeld der Gemeinde Waldkirchen a. W.' is rendered in ornate Gothic script across the lower central section.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in violet ink on cream paper and enclosed within a decorative border of small squares. A header panel in the upper portion carries the title 'Donautal-Notgeld des oberen Donaugaues' in bold Gothic type. Below, a block of justified text in German sets out the legal basis for issue, stating that the Gemeinde Waldkirchen am Wesen resolved on 7 June 1920 to issue vouchers totalling 30,000 Kronen, redeemable at the municipal treasury (Gemeindekasse) in lawful currency between 1 and 31 December 1920. The place and date 'Waldkirchen am Wesen, am 7. Juni 1920' appear beneath the legal text, followed by the Bürgermeister's printed signature 'Anton Peham'; the denomination '60' is repeated in large stylised numerals at lower left and right, with a counterfeiting warning printed between them. A four-line verse in Gothic script runs vertically along the left margin.
