| Reverse description | Deep blue guilloche underprint with red overprint vignette at centre, showing a tall medieval church tower with surrounding rooftops rendered in fine line engraving. The bold denomination '60' appears in large blue numerals flanking the central vignette on both sides, and two oval cartouches at upper left and upper right carry the inscriptions 'Gutschein Gemeinde' and 'Ried im Traunkreis' respectively in Gothic lettering. Stylised fleur-de-lis ornaments punctuate the corners and upper border against the dense blue wave-pattern ground. |

Austrian municipal notgeld of this period exists in the thousands of varieties, but the Ried im Traunkreis issues are among the more locally specific — produced to address the acute coin shortage that persisted in Austria well after the armistice, as the Habsburg monetary system collapsed and the new Republic struggled to establish stable small-denomination circulation. Gemeinden across Upper Austria printed their own emergency paper rather than wait for Vienna to solve the problem.
The 60 Heller denomination is one of the less common face values in the Jaksch notgeld listings, sitting above the ubiquitous 10 and 20 Heller issues that dominated municipal production in 1920.
