60 Heller Hainburg

One of hundreds of Heller-denomination notgeld issues that flooded the Austrian market during the severe coin shortage of 1918–1921, this piece was produced by the Hainburger Gewerbekasse — a registered cooperative trade and savings institution rather than a municipality. That distinction matters: commercial cooperative issues were less systematically catalogued than civic ones, and survival rates vary considerably depending on whether the issuing body kept records or simply let redemption lapse.
