Brandenberg is a small Tyrolean village in the Inn valley, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities it issued its own notgeld during the postwar currency crisis. The 60 Heller denomination sits in the middle of what was typically a matched set — collectors should note that the Jaksc catalogue treats these Brandenberg issues as a coherent series, and incomplete sets are significantly more common than complete ones.
Wagner of Innsbruck printed notgeld for numerous Tyrolean communities in this period, working from locally commissioned artwork rather than standardized plates.
