| 背面描述 | Central design depicts a map-shaped relief of Jordan bearing an image of the ancient Nabataean treasury of Petra (Al-Khazneh), set within the open field. A Hashemite royal crown appears in the upper right field. A multi-line Arabic inscription to the right of the central motif reproduces an excerpt from the Jordanian independence declaration of 1946. The legend 'THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN' arcs along the lower rim in Latin script, while an Arabic legend citing the 60th anniversary of independence and the dates 1946–2006 runs along the upper periphery. |

Issued to mark the 60th anniversary of Jordanian independence, this piece belongs to a commemorative program the Central Bank has used selectively since the 1970s to produce high-denomination gold for collectors and diplomatic gifts rather than circulation. Jordan declared independence from the British Mandate on May 25, 1946, though full sovereignty over foreign affairs came incrementally — British troops remained stationed in the country until 1957, and the Anglo-Jordanian Treaty wasn't formally abrogated until that year under pressure from pan-Arab nationalist sentiment following the Suez Crisis.
