| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a circular central device featuring the municipal coat of arms of Arenys de Munt — a shield with foliate decoration — flanked by the initials 'A' and 'R' and the date '1937' below, all enclosed within a plain inner circle. The place name 'ARENYS DE MUNT' is inscribed at the base, flanked by small decorative flourishes. A broad outer legend reading 'CARTÓ MONEDA D'OS PROVISIONAS' encircles the entire design, separated by a beaded border, the whole printed in dark ink on pale blue-tinted cardboard. |

Arenys de Munt, a small Catalan municipality north of Barcelona, issued its own emergency cardboard currency in 1937 as the Republican war economy collapsed conventional coin supply. Hundreds of Catalan towns did the same — the Generalitat could not keep pace with demand for small-denomination coinage, so local councils printed or stamped their own. These pieces circulated within strict municipal boundaries and were theoretically redeemable, though redemption became academic after Franco's forces consolidated control over Catalonia in early 1939.
