| Obverse description | The national emblem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic is depicted in the centre of the field, featuring the That Luang stupa flanked by decorative foliage and framed by a wreath of rice stalks tied at the base with a ribbon bearing an inscription in Lao script. A dotted inner border encircles the central device.
