正面描述 Bare head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, with a prominent crest and cheek guards clearly delineated. The hair falls in loose locks beneath the helmet bowl. The portrait is rendered in a bold, somewhat provincial Hellenistic style, with the facial features — including a strong nose and defined eye — visible in profile. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription present.

附加信息

Polemon I and Dynamis represent one of the more turbulent joint-authority arrangements in Bosporan history. Polemon, a client king installed by Mark Antony and later confirmed by Augustus, married Dynamis — granddaughter of Mithridates VI — partly to legitimize his rule over a kingdom that regarded her bloodline as the only genuine claim to the throne. The marriage was politically coerced; Dynamis had previously ruled independently and would do so again after Polemon's death campaigning against the Aspurgiani around 8 AD.

The copper small-denomination issues of this joint reign are notoriously poorly struck, with frequent flan cracks attributable to the region's inconsistent metal preparation.
