| Reverse description | Elaborately rendered twelve-fold helmeted achievement of arms displayed centrally in the field, comprising the composite dynastic shield of the House of Welf quartered with the arms of the various Brunswick-Lüneburg territories, surmounted by multiple crested helms with mantling. The shield is flanked by rich acanthus scrollwork and ornamental cartouche work in the Baroque style. The date 1648 appears incorporated within the surrounding Latin legend, which runs between two beaded borders along the coin's periphery. |
