| Descrizione del dritto | Central quartered shield bearing the arms of Grand Master Jean de la Vallette: the cross of the Order of Saint John quartered with the personal arms of the Vallette family, featuring rampant lions and a chequered field, surmounted by decorative scrollwork above the shield. The denomination numeral '6' appears in the left field. A circular Latin legend runs along the entire periphery, interrupted at the top by a Maltese cross separating the beginning and end of the inscription. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Full-length standing figure of Saint John the Baptist, draped in classical robes and a mantle, facing slightly left, holding a long staff or cross in his right hand. Two undulating scrolled banderoles flank the figure in the field, bearing portions of the Latin scriptural legend distributed across the design. The composition is rendered in a Renaissance style typical of Hospitaller coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. |
