The entire design is struck on a square klippe flan with reeded borders along all four sides, the corners of the planchet projecting boldly beyond the inner circular field. |

The ship's hull, rigging, and gun ports are rendered with exceptional engraving detail characteristic of the Dutch Golden Age maritime tradition. A Latin legend encircles the central design within a beaded border, separated from the raised rim.
