| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the crowned arms of West Friesland — quartered with two lions passant — surmounted by an elaborate foliate crown, with the date divided above the crown at the top of the field. The denomination numeral '6' appears to the left of the shield and the stuiver abbreviation 'S' to the right, flanking the arms. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery. The design is rendered in a bold, slightly archaic baroque style typical of Dutch provincial coinage of the early eighteenth century. |
