Obverse description An equestrian effigy of King Christian IV is depicted in right-facing profile, the monarch shown in full armour astride a prancing horse, all contained within a beaded inner ring. The royal legend encircles the central device between the inner beaded ring and a further beaded ring at the rim. The mintmaster's initials H·F· appear as a secondary inscription within the field.
