Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold Nasta'liq calligraphic inscription arranged in two horizontal registers divided by a ruled line, reading the Shi'a kalima. The date in AH numerals appears in the lower portion of the central field. A secondary inscription, likely the mint name Mashhad, is rendered in the lower segment beneath the dividing line. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of Afsharid hammered silver coinage.
