| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is entirely covered with a densely composed thuluth calligraphic inscription filling the entire field. A central cartouche contains the name and regnal year 913 AH of Shah Ismail, while surrounding lines of text carry the extended royal titulature of the ruler. The legend reads the full honorific titles of the sultan — al-Adil, al-Hadi, al-Kamil, al-Wali, Abu al-Muzaffar — identifying him as Shah Ismail al-Safawi Bahadur Khan. The inscription is executed in bold relief thuluth script against a flat ground, with no figurative elements, in keeping with Safavid aniconic numismatic tradition. |
