Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse depicts a seated figure of the Madonna and Child in glory, set upon clouds with radiating rays of light emanating behind her; the Madonna holds the Christ Child on her left arm. Two winged cherubs or putti flank the scene in the upper field, one to each side. The circumferential Latin legend reads: · ET · REGE · EOS · (and He shall rule them), with the date 1719/5 and the mint master initials F · M · S · incorporated into the legend at the base. Aanvullende informatie

The 6 Scudi was among the largest silver coins produced in Italy during this period, issued by a Genoese republic increasingly squeezed between French and Habsburg influence. Genoa's mint operated under the authority of the Biennial Doges, and large-denomination silver of this weight served primarily as trade and settlement currency rather than everyday exchange — pieces of this size rarely changed hands in markets.

At 183 grams, handling losses and cabinet friction accumulate fast. Survivors with intact surfaces are genuinely uncommon.
