Obverse description Central crowned oval cartouche bearing a five-fold quartered coat of arms, with an inescutcheon displaying the four-fold arms of Bavaria and the Palatinate. The shield is superimposed upon crossed sword and crozier, symbols of the bishop's combined secular and ecclesiastical authority. The denomination numeral '6' and the initial 'P' (for Pfennig) are placed in the field to either side of the shield. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, identifying the issuing prince-bishop.
