Obverse description Crowned monogram of Duke Rudolph August within the coin field, formed by the interlaced initials 'R' and 'A' in large roman letters surmounted by a princely crown. The design is unadorned and boldly rendered, occupying the majority of the flan, with a plain inner field and a beaded border encircling the periphery.
