Obverse description Central field features the crowned royal cipher of Frederick Francis I, composed of the interlaced script initials FF rendered in an ornate cursive monogram. A ducal crown with jewelled arches and pearled rim surmounts the cipher, dominating the upper portion of the flan. The design is unbordered and occupies the full field, with no peripheral legend. The style is characteristic of late 18th- to early 19th-century German small coinage, with bold relief engraving on a plain field.
