Obverse description Central field features the wheel of Osnabrück — a six-spoked cartwheel symbol characteristic of the bishopric's heraldic arms — displayed prominently within a beaded or rope inner circle. The wheel rests upon a decorative base or shield form. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, reading the bishop's abbreviated titles. The striking is typical of mid-seventeenth-century hammered coinage, with an irregular flan and moderately flat relief.
