Obverse description Municipal arms of Beckum displayed centrally within a beaded inner circle, consisting of a shield bearing three wavy bars (representing the river Aa), surmounted by the date 1595 above the shield. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, reading STADT ★ BECKEM 1595, with a star serving as a word divider. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of hammered copper coinage of the late sixteenth century.
