Obverse description Central field bears the civic shield of arms of Hull — three ducal coronets arranged in pale — set within an encircling olive wreath. The legend HULL and the date 1811 appear above the shield. The whole is surrounded by a border of 32 radiating starburst devices of alternating lengths, pointing inward toward the centre.
