Reverse description Crowned cruciform shield of arms at centre, comprising the quartered arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (rampant lion), Ireland (harp), and the Protectorate cross, all beneath an arched royal crown. The date 1658 is divided across the upper field, flanking the crown. The surrounding Latin legend PAX·QVÆRITVR·BELLO, meaning 'Peace is sought through war', runs around the periphery within a milled border. The heraldic design is executed in fine relief consistent with Thomas Simon's medallic engraving style.
