| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central round hole divides the date numerals, with '19' to the left and '43' to the right of the perforation. The royal cypher 'GRI' (Georgius Rex Imperator) in interlaced script appears below the hole, while a Tudor crown surmounts the composition above. The design is set within a dentilated border running along the coin's inner rim. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
New Guinea's coinage was administered separately from the Australian mainland throughout the mandate period, with the Territory issuing its own distinctive series rather than circulating standard Australian coins. Production of this type was curtailed after 1943 as Japanese forces occupied much of the Territory, and the civilian administrative infrastructure that sustained a local coinage effectively ceased to function. Some issues from the final years of this series saw negligible circulation for that reason alone.
