| 背面描述 | Four crowned cruciform shields bearing the arms of England, Scotland, France, and the Hanoverian territories arranged symmetrically around a central Garter star, with the divided regnal date appearing above in the angles. The crowned shields alternate with the sceptres of the Garter and the whole composition is enclosed by a continuous Latin legend around the periphery. The design is the work of Johann Ochs and is typical of the elaborate heraldic reverses employed on British silver coinage of the period. Die varieties exist across the different emission years. |
