Obverse description Draped bust of Queen Elizabeth I facing left, crowned with an ornate Tudor crown, hair elaborately dressed and falling to the shoulder. A Tudor rose appears in the field behind the head, serving as a denomination mark. The effigy is rendered in the smaller-bust style characteristic of the 3rd and 4th issues.
