Obverse description Central design features a large five-pointed star in relief, occupying the majority of the coin's field, with the date 1958 displayed across the star's centre with digits flanking either side of the upper point. The legend GHANA arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the denomination SIX PENCE is inscribed in two lines beneath the star. Two raised dots appear to the left and right of the star in the lower field. The overall design is bold and graphic, reflecting Ghana's newly independent national symbolism.
