Obverse description The arms of Brunswick, a rearing horse facing left, occupies the central field in bold relief. The denomination mark '1/6' appears in an oval cartouche at the base of the design beneath the horse. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border, referencing the joint rule of the two co-dukes. The overall style is typical of late 17th-century German milled coinage, with bold lettering and a strongly modelled heraldic horse.
