Obverse description Central field displays the denomination VI MARIEN GROSCH in three lines, surrounded by small decorative quatrefoil stops. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circular legend reading the ruler's titles and the date in Latin script around the periphery. The lettering is bold and well-struck, characteristic of Hanoverian milled coinage of the early eighteenth century. Small ornamental stars punctuate the legend at intervals.
