Obverse description Crowned elaborate quartered coat of arms of Clemens August, Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and Prince-Bishop of Münster, with a central escutcheon, surrounded by a continuous abbreviated Latin legend. The arms display multiple heraldic quarters representing his various ecclesiastical and secular dignities. The crown above the shield is of princely form, and the entire composition is rendered in high relief typical of mid-18th century German ecclesiastical coinage.
