Reverse description The reverse features a standing allegorical figure of the Law, rendered as a winged genius in the neoclassical style by engraver François Bernier, facing slightly right and inscribing the word CONSTITUTION on a large tablet or stele supported on a plinth. To the left stands a fasces, symbol of republican authority, and to the right a Gallic rooster, emblem of vigilance and France. The legend REGNE DE LA LOI curves along the upper field, with CONSTITUTION inscribed on the tablet within the design. The entire composition is enclosed within a toothed border.
