INFINEX — Institutul de Finanțare Externă — was a Romanian state body established to manage financial obligations arising from Romania's wartime participation alongside the Axis. These military payment certificates, issued in Lei denominations, were designed for use by Romanian and allied troops operating in occupied territories, functioning as a parallel currency distinct from the Banca Națională's civilian issue. The 6 Lei denomination is notably odd — fractional military scrip values like this typically appear when existing coinage has been withdrawn or is physically impractical in field conditions.
The P#M2 series is sparsely documented, and surviving specimens are uncommon.
