| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central shield bearing the diagonal-banded arms of Baden, surmounted by an electoral crown with elaborate finials and flanked by two crossed laurel branches tied at the base. The arms display the characteristic diagonal bend of the Baden family on a stippled field. The circular legend is divided on either side of the crown, reading KUR BADEN to the left and LAND MUNZ to the right, all within a fine milled border. |

Baden's coinage underwent significant reorganization in 1803 when the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss reshaped the German political map, greatly expanding Baden's territory and elevating its rulers — Charles Louis Frederick became Grand Duke the following year. The 6 Kreuzer issues of this transitional moment reflect the awkward dual-currency vocabulary of the period: "Landmünze" denotes a coin intended strictly for internal territorial circulation, distinct from the Conventionsmünze standard used for cross-border trade. The billon alloy, well below the old southern German silver norms, was a deliberate policy choice for small-denomination domestic spending.
