Reverse description Centrally placed shield bearing the Styrian panther (a rearing panther passant), set within a cross-pattée frame that divides the field into four quarters. The date appears in two of the quadrants flanking the shield. A four-part circular Latin legend reading MONE NOVA DVCA STIRI — abbreviating Moneta Nova Ducatus Styriae (New Coin of the Duchy of Styria) — is distributed around the perimeter within a beaded border. The design is characteristic of regional Austrian mint production of the early Habsburg period.
