Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, incorporating the episcopal crossed keys, a crowned lion, and battlemented towers, surmounted by a large grand-ducal crown. The shield is flanked at the lower left by a palm branch and at the lower right by a laurel branch, their stems crossing beneath the shield in a decorative arrangement. No legend appears on this face; the design occupies the full field in a bold relief characteristic of early 19th-century German coinage.
