| Aanvullende informatie |
Ernest I ruled Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from 1826 until his death in 1844, presiding over a duchy whose political influence far exceeded its modest size — largely through the strategic marriages of his sons, including Prince Albert, who wed Queen Victoria in 1840. The 6 Kreuzer was a workhorse denomination in the fragmented currency landscape of the German states, where billon small change circulated alongside dozens of incompatible regional coinages until the Vereinsmünze agreements of the 1850s finally imposed order.
KM#80 is among the less commonly encountered types from this duchy, with surviving examples typically showing considerable circulation wear.
