| Obverse description | Draped bust of Emperor Karl VI (Charles VI) of Habsburg facing right, the truncation of the bust touching the inner rim. The head does not intersect the surrounding legend. A circular Latin legend commencing at approximately 8 o'clock reads for CAROLUS VI DEI GRATIA ROMANORUM IMPERATOR SEMPER AUGUSTUS GERMANIAE HISPANIAE HUNGARIAE BOHEMIAE REX, abbreviated around the periphery. The portrait is rendered in a formal Baroque court style typical of early eighteenth-century Habsburg imperial coinage. |
