Obverse description Draped bust of Emperor Karl VI (Charles VI) of Habsburg facing right, the truncation of the bust touching the inner rim. The head does not intersect the surrounding legend. A circular Latin legend commencing at approximately 8 o'clock reads for CAROLUS VI DEI GRATIA ROMANORUM IMPERATOR SEMPER AUGUSTUS GERMANIAE HISPANIAE HUNGARIAE BOHEMIAE REX, abbreviated around the periphery. The portrait is rendered in a formal Baroque court style typical of early eighteenth-century Habsburg imperial coinage.
