Charles VI spent much of his reign preoccupied with securing acceptance of the Pragmatic Sanction — his scheme to allow his daughter Maria Theresa to inherit the Habsburg lands intact. The Breslau mint, operating under Silesian administration, continued striking these small silver pieces throughout that period, right up until Charles died in 1740 without ever fully resolving the succession question. Within two years, Frederick the Great had seized Silesia entirely, and the Breslau mint passed permanently out of Habsburg hands.
