Reverse description Square klippe reverse with chamfered corners, bearing at center a circular wreath border enclosing a five-line Latin inscription in capital letters: NUMUS / AUREUS / REIPUBL. / VLMENSIS / 1704, identifying this as a gold coin of the Republic of Ulm, dated 1704. The wreath is composed of laurel branches tied at the base, rendered in moderate relief against the flat field. The square flan, consistent with the klippe technique, shows plain edges and the characteristic slightly irregular surface of a struck gold piece. The inscription is neatly arranged in the center of the reverse field with no additional peripheral legend.
