Die workmanship is characteristic of hammered production, with slight doubling and flan irregularity around the periphery. No border or outer legend frames the central inscription. |

Shihab al-Din 'Umar, also known as Mubarak Khan, ruled the Delhi Sultanate for a matter of months in 1316 before being deposed and killed by Malik Kafur's faction amid the turbulent succession crisis following 'Ala al-Din Khalji's death. Coins issued in his name are accordingly scarce, and billon issues of this fractional denomination survive in small numbers.
