Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of Greek public television, this piece belongs to a broader commemorative program the Bank of Greece ran through the 2010s despite the country being mid-way through its third international bailout. The decision to mint silver commemoratives during an extended sovereign debt crisis drew predictable criticism — austerity applied unevenly, as ever.
