| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized radio transmission tower at the bottom, from which emanate concentric radio wave patterns radiating across the entire field. At center, a color-applied enameled coat of arms of the Hellenic Republic — a white cross on a blue shield encircled by a laurel wreath — is surrounded by the circular legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ. The denomination 6 ΕΥΡΩ appears in the upper portion of the field in a pixelated, digital-style font. The engraver's monogram appears in the lower right of the field. |

Issued to mark the centenary of the Hellenic National Radio Foundation (ERT), founded in 1920 — though ERT itself was controversially shut down by the Samaras government in June 2013 in a sudden overnight broadcast blackout, only to be reconstituted in 2015 after the move triggered a constitutional crisis and mass protests. The €6 denomination is one of the more unusual face values in modern Greek commemorative coinage, adopted partly to sidestep collector fatigue with the more familiar €10 issues.
