| Obverse description | Central design features a stylized allegorical composition referencing the ancient Eleusinian Mysteries: a coiled serpent in the lower field, above which a hand holds a torch and a sheaf of wheat together with a poppy head, all rendered in a modern graphic style. The Greek state coat of arms, consisting of a quartered shield with a cross surrounded by a laurel wreath, appears in the upper left field.
