| Obverse description | Half-length effigy of John George I facing right, clad in elaborately decorated armour and an ermine-lined electoral mantle, wearing the elector's cap and holding an upright sword in his right hand. The figure is rendered in fine relief with strong sculptural detail typical of early 17th-century Saxon goldsmith work. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin legend running along the outer border of the coin. |
