| Obverse description | At center, the crowned royal cypher of Frederik III occupies the field within a beaded circle, with the inscription EBEN-EZER flanking a cloud motif positioned below the monogram; the cloud breaks through both the beaded circle and the base of the crown above, lending the design a dramatic, providential character. The royal motto legend encircles the device outside the beaded border, terminating with the date 1659. The overall composition is rendered in a bold, high-relief style consistent with presentation coinage of the Danish Baroque period. |
