| Reverse description | Eleven lines of Latin text filling the entire reverse field, commemorating the death of Christoph Bernhard von Galen, Prince-Bishop of Münster. The inscription records his full titles including Bishop of Münster, Administrator of Corvey, Burgrave of Stromberg, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, and Lord of Borck, and acclaims him as Restorer, Preserver, and Propagator of the Church and Principality of Münster. The year of his death is given in both Arabic numerals and Roman numerals at the foot of the inscription. The lettering is bold and deeply engraved in a capital Roman script, filling the field without border ornament. |
