| Obverse description | Saint Paul depicted in the clouds in the upper field, shown half-length facing, holding a sword in his right hand and a Bible in his left, identified by the legend S·PAVL PATRON in the field. Below, a detailed panoramic view of the city of Münster fills the lower portion of the coin, with church towers, spires, and rooftops rendered in fine relief. In the exergue beneath the cityscape, a three-line inscription reads MONAST·WESTPH / AD·OBED·REDVC / TVM·, referencing the return of Münster to obedience. The date MDCLXI (1661) appears within the outer circular legend, which names the issuing prince-bishop Christoph Bernhard in abbreviated Latin.
